Obama’s successor Mr. Burris may have said a few things that sounded like a script to me but the facts are still THERE.What a fucking joke the American Democracy has turned into. Mr. Sessions, the Republican who spoke, tried to use the age old change of venue argument of pre-trial publicity in our courts to say that the review would not be impartial. We ALL are not so stupid to NOT know that there is such a thing as Separation of Powers among OUR three branches of government. And the fact that it WILL take an act of our Legislative Branch to repeal the existing law. But how the hell could ANYONE think that the change of venue argument based on pre-trial publicity could be used in a case that involves ALL CITIZENS when it’s ALL OF US, and not just a segment of society WHOSE RIGHTS ARE BEING TAKEN AWAY? After all, I think that at least the vast majority of our society as well as the world, watches the news for Pete’s Sake! That alone negates that attitude. Get the fuck over yourselves trying to pander to the ‘moral majority’ or whatever you want to label the extreme right wing bible thumpers. Do what we sent you to office for, enact laws for the common good of ALL CITIZENS. The issues of Gay Rights or whatever you want to call that belief, are just as important to the soundness of our economy and government, HOW CAN THEY BE OVERLOOKED ANY LONGER? I for one am hopeful today is a turning point in what I for one consider equal rights for everyone. Isn’t it time? That’s my take on this video. Take a fucking poll and see what that results. Sort of wondering if that’s not how the hell we should run the country in 2010. |
